Cheltenham Bournside School students celebrate "best ever GCSE results" in line with the top 20% of schools in the country

Today Cheltenham Bournside School is celebrating its best ever set of GCSE results with average grades matching targets set for the top 20% of schools in the country. The number of students gaining a grade 5 or above including English and Maths was also the highest the school has ever achieved.

Headteacher, Steve Jefferies, said “Our students and staff have worked tirelessly to achieve these fantastic results. Students continued their studies in school with their teachers right up to the last full exam and teaching staff provided a huge number of revision sessions before and after school.”

“Of course, most importantly, the high quality of teaching in classroom lessons, the work of our dedicated support teams, the diligence and determination of students and the support of parents and carers have all contributed to this success.”

“Whilst I’m delighted at the school’s overall results, today is all about the individual achievements of our students and it’s great to celebrate with students like Ruby who gained the equivalent of nine GCSEs at grade 9 (with the tenth a grade 8!), Poppy (eight grade 9s and two grade 8s), Eleanor who gained ten GCSEs graded at 8 or above and Kady, Tahmid, and Oliver who gained nine GCSEs at grade 8 or above.”
