Boost Programme

As part of our new 5-day Transition Week, Year 6 students joining Cheltenham Bournside School in September took part in a fantastic 2-day BOOST programme, run in partnership with Gloucestershire Constabulary. The engaging programme is designed to help build self awareness and emotional resilience as well as promoting positive coping techniques through fun activities in groups, supported by our senior students. A brilliant addition to Transition!

Moving Up! The transition to secondary school

The animation below was created for the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families and is aimed at supporting pupils who are preparing to transition to secondary school. The animation aims to support pupils to:
  • Identify potential worries associated with starting secondary school
  • Know they're not alone if they are feeling worried
  • Talk to a trusted adult or friend if they have any concerns
  • Identify solutions and strategies for looking after their mental health, including self-care
