All about uniform

At Bournside we expect the highest standards from our students, starting with their personal presentation. Our uniform gives our school its identity and we expect our students to wear it with pride at all times. To maintain these standards, the Uniform and Equipment Guidance outlines our expectations to ensure that our students feel part of our community, are ready to learn, and make the best impression to everyone they meet.

Our Houses

We have high expectations for learning and for behaviour. We want you to try your hardest in lessons and we’ll reward you through our house points system for outstanding attitude to learning, as well as great attendance, joining in, supporting others, and your achievements in and outside of school. In your daily tutor sessions you’ll be with fellow house members from other year groups so you will soon feel part of our school community. On joining us, you will be presented with your school tie which will represent your house.

Reading is the key

We aim to unlock a love of reading in every Bournside student. We have a fantastic library to enhance your enjoyment of reading and level of literacy. From classic fiction to thrilling sci-fi, there’s a book on our shelves for you!

Meet Molly

Molly is our school dog and belongs to Assistant Headteacher, Mrs Lees. She plays an important role within our pastoral team, and was chosen as our school dog because of her mild temperament and excellent behaviour. Molly aims to encourage our students to enjoy every day, be present in the moment, and recognise the positive impact that animals have on mental health and wellbeing. She loves working with our students, but you will only come into close contact with her if you want to.
