If you have an iPad provided through the school’s scheme, it will be pre-enrolled with our management system, Zuludesk. A quick setup guide will be supplied with the iPad which explains the small number steps required to prepare it for use in school.
For students bringing in their own iPad, independently of our scheme, the information below will help prepare the device for school use:
Creating an Apple ID
Children under 13 can’t create an Apple ID on their own. However, as a parent or legal guardian, the family organiser can provide verified parental consent for a child to have their own Apple ID, then create it on the child’s behalf.
The following are a range of core apps that are used across a variety of lessons – you must make sure that you have all of these downloaded on your iPad!
The following app will require payment (currently £13.99)
N.B. Your school e-mail will be pre-configured on your iPad if it is one from our scheme with ZuluDesk.
To add your school e-mail to the Mail app:
- Add an Exchange account
- When prompted, enter your school e-mail address and school password. Your e-mail address will be the same as your username with @bournside.gloucs.sch.uk appended – E.g. if your username is jacksmith, your e-mail will be email@example.com
- Tap Continue. The app will then verify your email settings and add the mail account to the app.
If you are asked to provide further information such as the server address and username, please use these details:
Server address: outlook.office365.com
Username: Your e-mail address (e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org)
You can leave the rest blank.
