Headteacher Designate, Gareth Burton, who assumes the post on 1st September, said: “These examination results reflect the high level of determination and commitment of our students throughout their sixth form studies. So many of our students have exceeded their expectations and I am delighted that in this volatile period of national educational reform at A Level, our students have achieved so well and placed themselves in a very strong position to make the next step in their lives, with the very large majority now being able to accept the offer from their respective university.”

“I am particularly pleased with the increased average point score per entry, which has risen from 28.4 (2016) to 29.6 (2017) and almost three quarters of grades awarded being grade Cs or above, with over two out of every five grades being a grade B or better.”

“These achievements would not have been possible without the constant support of students’ parents/carers, wider family and both teaching and non-teaching staff at the school. I would like to pay tribute to all involved in today’s shared successes, which reflect the strong emphasis of partnership work underpinning the support offered to almost 350 sixth form students across 32 different subjects at A Level, including the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).”
