Our year 9 and 10 students attended a number of exciting and fascinating events at the Cheltenham Science Festival last week. Students were able to experience a number of hands-on experiences at locations in the town centre including activities run by EDF Energy, GE and GCHQ.
Students attended a ‘Ridiculous Rapid Reactions’ show and a ‘Hidden Careers’ talk aimed at Key Stage 4 STEM students. Our visits were completed with time in the Discover Zone to learn about the various careers and applications of STEM subjects locally and nationally.
Mr Saundry, Director of Science at Bournside, said: “Students had a great few days exploring the opportunities and careers that are available to students through learning science. The Science Festival in Cheltenham is an amazing event on our doorstep and it was great to see Bournside students getting fully involved in such a prestigious event. Our year 9 and year 10 students were great ambassadors for the school and had a great experience.”
