Oxford University chemistry visit

Last week, some of our sixth form chemistry students visited Oxford University where they carried out practical work and found out what it’s like to study science at one of the world’s most renowned universities.

The year 12 students, who are studying chemistry at A level, were able to synthesise their own organic chemicals and then analyse them using state-of-the-art spectroscopy methods.

Mr Andrew Saundry, Director of Science at Bournside said: “This was a great opportunity for students to experience working in a university laboratory and get a taste of what it is like to study science at one of the world’s best universities. Many thanks to Mrs Bham for organising such an amazing experience for our year 12 Bournside chemists.”
