Maths Hub opening

We are delighted to announce that our state-of-the-art maths hub came into use on Monday 29th April. This new £2.4m facility has been named after Alan Turing, the English mathematician and pioneer of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence.

The opening of the Alan Turing Maths Hub coincides with our year 11 ‘Super Maths Day’, in which our GCSE students prepared for their forthcoming maths exams. A formal opening ceremony is planned for later this academic year.

Headteacher Mr Burton said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the completion of the Alan Turing Maths Hub. This outstanding facility, designed to inspire our students in their learning of this key subject, consists of 12 classrooms, each themed around a different mathematical concept or mathematician and will provide our students and teachers with a first-class environment to support their achievement.”

The light and spacious classrooms each feature their own distinctive wall art and interactive screens featuring modern touch-screen technology.

Head of Mathematics Mrs Williams said: “The Maths Department is delighted to now be able to make use of our new dedicated hub. This modern facility provides the perfect environment for our passionate team of teachers to inspire and educate our students in this core subject.”

The Maths Department moved into their dedicated hub on Monday 29th April, coinciding with year 11’s Super Maths Day.
