On Tuesday 4th June, our year 12 students who are undertaking the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) took part in a marketplace presentation event. Students presented and shared their independent projects with each other, year 10 students, teachers and governors.
The projects are fantastically varied and interesting, ranging from one student who built a hybrid rocket, a study into whether it is possible to travel the world for free and a composition that reflects the development of the different stages of jazz music.
It was a great celebration of all of the students’ hard work as they now work to submit their final projects.
The EPQ allows students to embark on a largely self-directed and self-motivated project. Students choose a topic, and then plan, research and develop their idea before presenting their finished product which can be a 5,000 word written report or an artefact (for example a piece of art, computer game or even an event like a fashion show etc).
